10 Miles of Hills to Thanksgiving

I guess at some point I will stop starting my posts with “It’s been awhile and I will post more often…”  Hmmm… maybe a New Year’s Resolution that starts early.  I find that if I set a resolution before the end of the previous year and (more…)

Hills and Beef – Grand Prix Races of August

Team Beef Runner
Me at Atlanta’s Finest Finish Line 2016

On January 1, 2016, I started putting another one of my brilliant ideas into action–2016 a year of running challenges.  In the Fall of 2015, I said, “I think next year can be a the year of race challenges.” I decided I’m going to push my limits and accomplish some stuff I’ve read about and thought was cool/craziness. I mean why not? Yeah, so what I’m not the typical looking runner and nor am I the fastest (regularly the slowest or close to it)…   (more…)

Books & Reading to Celebrate National Relaxation Day

national relaxation day beachToday is National Relaxation Day according to NationalDayCalendar.com.  Relaxing is an important part of life.  I feel like I don’t do enough of it these days, but I have been making an effort to carve out 5-30 minutes a day to relax.  Most days it’s stretching and deep breathing before bed as I try to build a new habit.  My all time favorite way to relax is to read.  Ultimate would be to read uninterrupted with food and beverage service without having to move from my slightly recline position (and getting paid to do it…a girl can dream). TJ Tells It: The AJC Peachtree Road Race (Twice in a Week)

Everyone it’s been awhile since I posted but, I’ll be more regular (thinking weekly) in the future…

TJ Peachtree Road Race 2016

I finished my 5th AJC Peachtree Road Race

Actually, I completed the Peachtree Road Race route twice last week.  The first was on July 4th race day with 56,993 other people in the scorching heat. The second time was with one of my favorite participants Rick who missed race day due to a family emergency, but he  was coming back from a hip replacement and trained for 12 weeks to complete the race again. Global Running Day 2016: 4 Runs, 3 Showers, & Many Memories

Dear Global Running Day,

Thanks for giving me an excuse to demonstrate my special brand of (running) crazy on June 1, 2016.  Four runs in less than 24 hours… maybe a little extreme, but the potential for midweek fun overrode good sense.

GRD Bib 2016
A day of running needs a bib to commemorate it. Coach Amy hooked me up with one.

I planned this day a couple of weeks in advance.  I knew that when you went from National Running Day to Global Running Day that big things were in store (and less sleep, more miles, and great memories too). OK so by plan, I registered for some events and tried to decide on my “How to Stay Awake at Work on No Sleep” plan.

Luckily, I didn’t really have to do much work to find my events. (more…)

I’m Telling It…

Welcome all!

I’ve been told that I have things to share with the world. I’ve decided to listen to those people and share.  In my everyday life, I like to tell it like it is and people seem to appreciate it.

I will strive to always tell it — the truth based on facts or my opinion with real feelings and emotions — in plain speak with a touch of humor from a well-meaning place.

A little about me: (more…)
